Directions
- Heat sugar and orange juice in a saucepan over medium-high heat until dissolved
- Add strawberries and orange zest, cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring until mix starts to thicken slightly and the fruit is soft
- Remove from heat and transfer to plastic containers or glass jars. Allow to cool before covering
- Store in fridge for up to 1 week
Cooking Tips
Use the compote cold or warm to garnish desserts such as shortcake, cheesecake or cake shells. Another idea is over ice cream, pancakes or waffles. For a premium taste, consider adding orange liqueur.
