Directions

  1. Heat sugar and orange juice in a saucepan over medium-high heat until dissolved
  2. Add strawberries and orange zest, cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring until mix starts to thicken slightly and the fruit is soft
  3. Remove from heat and transfer to plastic containers or glass jars. Allow to cool before covering
  4. Store in fridge for up to 1 week

Cooking Tips

Use the compote cold or warm to garnish desserts such as shortcake, cheesecake or cake shells. Another idea is over ice cream, pancakes or waffles. For a premium taste, consider adding orange liqueur.
